COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Occupational Health and Safety in the mining industry is primarily regulated by the Mine Health and Safety Act,No. 29 of 1996 (MHSA) as well as the Regulations made thereunder.
The MHSA requires the employer to bring about and maintain as far as is practical a working environment that is safe and without risk to the health of employees
However, it is not expected from the employer to take sole responsibility for health and safety. The MHSA is based on the principle that dangers in the workplace must be addressed by communication and co-operation between the employees and the employer.

- Health and Safety Equipment, Code of Practice, Selection, Training and Risk respond;
- Hygiene, Medical Surveillance and Hazardous work;
- SHE Representative appointment and Civil liability;
- Accidents, Investigation, Enquiry, Appeal and Incorporate standard;
- Negligent Act, Offence, Penalty and Special Order;
- Appointments, Case Law and Workshop.
